Acousmatic Concerts & Screenings at IAC
During the Intonal Festival at IAC, an acousmonium made up of more than 40 speakers hosts concerts of acousmatic music, along with collateral events including workshops, performances, and screenings, featuring two premieres.
This year’s special focus is on the French composer Luc Ferrari, exploring the intersection of music, sound art, documentary and radio art.

BIOGRAPHIES
Eleonora M. Ravasi
As part of Inter Arts Center’s annual programme of acousmatic works, the Italian performer and composer presents two concerts of works by Luc Ferrari. Alongside her classical musical degree, Ravasi focused on contemporary and electronic music and specialized in electronic keyboards. Having performed with several ensembles with acoustic and electrified instruments and orchestras in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Lithuania for international events, Ravasi is currently working on the interpretation of sound spatialization of acousmatic works in concert and collaborates with Audior. She focuses on compositional analysis applied to the electroacoustic repertoire and soundscapes.
Francesco Del Nero
The conservatory-trained, award-winning, Italian pianist and composer is also a founding member of the Malmö-based Hertzbreakerz group, dedicated to sound experiments and contemporary music. Their many activities include the Sound Spaces festival, now four years strong. As a composer, he has released with labels such as Sheva and been published by Ars Publica, and his work has been performed by the likes of ArsNova Ensemble and FontanaMix Ensemble.
Fabio Monni
Multimedia artist based in Malmö, Sweden. Fabio loves the discreet inclusion of electronic sounds on instrumental performance as well as the use of sounding objects. The space of the performance and the possibilities to spatialise the sonic sources into it, is something he always had a soft spot for. Clearly Fabio used the space in many artistic projects. His musician activity is more than often paralleled with professional graphic illustrations and his daily job as church musician in Lund.
Kent Olofsson
Kent Olofsson is a composer with an extensive artistic output of over 200 works that span a broad field of genres, ensemble types and contexts including music for orchestra, chamber music, electroacoustic music, music theatre, rock music, and works for dance performances and installations. The last decade his artistic work and research has been particularly focused on exploring musical composition in experimental theatre performances, where particularly his work with Teatr Weimar and with artist Nina Jeppsson has been widely acclaimed. Since 2021 he is professor of performing arts at Stockholm University of the Arts.
Alessandro Perini
Alessandro’s very broad artistic production ranges from instrumental and electronic music to audiovisual and light-based works, net-art, land-art, vibration-based works and custom-built machines. He has studied Composition (with Luca Francesconi and Ivan Fedele among others), Electronic Music and Science of Musical Communication in Italy and Sweden. In 2014 Alessandro started a research about vibration and tactile sound, called ‘touchmysound’, including projects at the Darmstadt Ferienkurse and residencies at Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto (Italy) and Park In Progress (Belgium).
Jonatan Sersam
Sersam’s musical voyage starts in the encounter between rapid, ruthless transformation and acoustic situations that in various ways questions the idea of progression or process. He’s concerned with narration, but not in a programmatic or dramaturgical sense, but the ongoing internal narration within the musical medium. He is experimenting with narrative structures of music, drawing parallels and creating interconnections between contemporary dramatic thinking and the purely abstract flow and musical transformation of sound. Jonatan studied composition at the Malmö Academy of Music (Luca Francesconi), the Conservatory of Bologna and the Kunstuniversität in Graz (Beat Furrer).
Robert Willim – Fields of Unknowing
The aim with Robert Willim’s work is to explore imaginaries, technologies and our relations to the incomprehensible. In Fields of Unknowing he use voice and electronics to evoke rough and mesmeric sonic worlds. The performance encourages the audience to simultaneously drift away and to meditate on the paradoxes of emerging technologies that gradually are made both banal and uncanny. Willim’s art is positioned in the borderland to his practices as a cultural analyst and a scholar of digital cultures, and he uses his research to spur artistic concepts.
Jakob Riis
Jakob Riis is a Danish/Swedish laptop musician and composer of electroacoustic music. Improvisation is a central part of Jakob Riis’ view of music as he creates possible soundscapes which are carefully explored together with the audience. His work and discography reveal collaborations with a wide range of different artists in several formats. In recent years, there has been an increased focus on working with spatial music, in electroacoustic compositions for various settings.
Intonal is an annual festival for experimental and electronic music that has been held in Malmö, Sweden since 2015. The festival is held at and by Inkonst. The focus of the festival is to offer an international programme of experimental and electronic music covering a wide range of genres, subgenres, and unique expressions. Besides established artists within the electronic avant garde and acts bordering towards sound art, a hefty club-oriented programme also presents DJs acting within innovative scenes for dance music. Parallel to this, there are also a number of installations, exhibitions, and artist talks. In addition to our ticketed programme, a handful of events are free of charge and open to the public.
